2 November — 20 December
FOOTPRINTS: THE JOURNEY OF LUCY AND PERCY PEPPER
This special exhibition and accompanying book is a fascinating search through public and family records that trace the lives of one Aboriginal family in the first half of the twentieth century. Footprints explores the different places the Pepper family lived along with extraordinary details about the events of their lives, their resilience in the face of adversity, and the strong family connections they fiercely protected despite government policies that aimed to separate so called ‘half-caste’ Aboriginal people from their full-blood family relations.
Featuring information panels and a short film, Footprints also illustrates how Aboriginal people can retrace the steps of their ancestors through public records, and in the case of the Stolen Generations, reconnect with families and communities.

A WALK THROUGH TIME: STORIES OF LOCH 1876 – 2011
The history of the picturesque village of Loch will soon be told in a combined walk and theatrical performance.
Called, A Walk through Time: Stories of Loch 1876 – 2011, the tour will take about 100 minutes. The audience will be lead through the village, stopping at 6
different sites to hear the stories of two woman pioneers, an early school teacher and reluctant student, a dairy farming couple, a bank clerk, a football team
on the brink of glory and the towns dogged pursuit of a much wanted park.
The walk can be enjoyed on two levels. First, the pleasure of the walk itself, re-imagining the village over time. Second, a deeper appreciation of the life lived
there over the past 130 years, the troubles faced and community forged.
The walk will take place on Sunday March 6 at 11am and 2pm.
Tickets: $5 per person can be purchased from Loch Post Office. Bookings can be made by contacting Gill Heal on 0427 511 507

POSTCARDS OF SOUTH GIPPSLAND
RENAE CARMODY
Renae Carmody is a local artist from Leongatha who loves living in beautiful South Gippsland with her husband Warren and three children Philippa, William
and Zara.
In 2000, Renae produced a series of postcards for many towns around South Gippsland because she felt that there was very little acknowledgment of their
landmarks and features, and she wanted locals and tourists to have access to fun and colourful images to send to other parts of Australia and the world.
These designs were enjoyed and well supported locally and were sent to some weird and wonderful places.

AN EVENING WITH HARRY MANX
SATURDAY MAY 8TH – MEENIYAN TOWN HALL – 8PM
AN EVENING WITH HARRY MANX
CONCESSION/ MEMBERS $45 ADULTS $48
Unique Canadian bluesman Harry Manx returns for a long awaited Australia-wide tour, bringing with him his stunning new ‘Bread and Buddha’ album. It was his five-year tutelage with renowned Rajasthani musician Vishwa Mohan Bhatt (Grammy winner with Ry Cooder for ‘A Meeting by the River’) that forged his now signature east-meets-west style of music, infusing traditional American earthy 12-bar blues with a subtle hint of mystic Indian sounds. Playing lap-slide guitar, harmonica, cigar-box guitar, banjo, stomp box and the 20-stringed Mohan Veena, Harry envelopes his audience with his warm vocals and haunting original songs, plus his quirky reworks of some classic blues.

GIPPSLAND CAMPDRAFT ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIPS
Comencing approximately 7am
This true “aussie” sport began in the cattle camps of the outback, where riders were required to select a beast out from the mob. This took the combined skill of horse and rider working together as one, as most cattle resent being separated from the mob. Over time, these skills were developed into the uniquely Australian sport as we see it today.
