Bike Hire Depots – are located at MEENIYAN Motel and the Wilson’s Promontory Motel in FOSTER. As most of the bikes are stored at Meeniyan we would prefer  12 – 24 hours notice, especially if we need to get bikes to Foster.

What Bikes Are Available? – Adult and Children’s bikes, also Tag-a-longs, Baby seats and Tandems.

How Much Is Bike Hire? – Daily Hire Fee….$30 per Adult, $15….for children and Baby seats. If you need a bike rack for your car we also have one available for hire (holds up to 3 bikes). No tow bar necessary….$15.

Please Note - Helmets included in hire price. Pick up and delivery service is also available for a minimum fee of $30.

• Things To Do In Meeniyan Before You Go – Before heading off on a ride or walk along the trail please, take the time to see the talented local artists displaying their work at the Meeniyan Art Gallery, or have a cuppa and cake at the Homely Café. Then head down to Lacy’s Fine Jewellery Studio and Gallery, or wander next door to Collectibles and Antiquities and the Meeniyan Community shop.  Meander across the road to find some treasures at South Gippsland Craft Merchants or some interesting clothing, souvenirs and gift-ware in Ten Rooms. You could even grab a hamburger at the friendly and quirky Pitstop Café. The Meeniyan Hotel (right next door) is a great place to stop for a drink or a tasty meal, and owners Graeme and Pam will make you feel very welcome at any time of the day.

• About The Bike And Walking Track – The Great Southern Rail Trail is directly opposite the Meeniyan Motel Units and right behind Tanderra Park. You can travel on its’ smooth and well kept surface either west or south. [see below]

• South Along The Great Southern Rail Trail – From Meeniyan, you can walk or ride south towards, Stony Creek (3.5 kilometres) and Buffalo (11.5 kilometres), then east to Fish Creek (19.5 kilometres) and Foster (32 kilometres). Choose from any of the lovely cafes to stop for lunch, morning or afternoon tea in either Fish Creek or Foster. You must take the time to check out the fabulous art gallery’s in Fishy which include Gecko Studio Gallery, the famous Celia Rosser Art Gallery and the Hill Top Gallery. Foster’s Stockyard Gallery and the Foster Museum are both well worth a look too.

• West Along The Great Southern Rail Trail – From Meeniyan township, heading west will take you across the new bridge over the Tarwin River to Koonwarra (9 kilometres). You might like to stop and have lunch, morning or afternoon tea at the Koonwarra Store or visit the Organic Cooking School. For complete relaxation and pampering, book into the Koonwarra Day Spa for a massage. Then you can head north to Leongatha (17 kilometres), where you might like to arrange for us to pick up the bikes if you do not wish to ride back to Meeniyan or Foster. There are many shops and eateries in the Leongatha township including McDonalds, KFC and Subway and it provides one of the major shopping centres for the South Gippsland Shire.
